Harassment Intimidation and Bullying (HIB)

Grapeview School District is committed to fostering a safe, civil educational environment for all students, staff, volunteers, and patrons. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for misconduct to ensure our school remain a supportive space for learning.

What counts as HIB (Harassment/Intimidation/Bullying)?

It isn't just physical. It includes rumors, jokes, social media threats, or demeaning gestures. This policy protects students on campus, at school events, and even off-campus if the behavior interferes with a student’s education.

For further information, our district policy and procedures are linked HERE

Scope of Policy -- HIB includes, but is not limited to: slurs, rumors, demeaning comments, physical attacks, or threats (including electronic messages; threats to students or property). These rules apply:

  1. On school property at any time.
  2. At any school-sponsored activity or event.
  3. The policy extends to off campus if the actions materially disrupt the educational process or student attendance.

Vector Alert is our district's tip reporting service. If you have information about a threat to our safety, do your part and report it. And remember, you can remain anonymous. Click above or below on Vector Solutions.

Grapeview School District takes harassment and/or bullying allegations very seriously. The district provides annual training on bullying prevention to all staff and social emotional education and training to students each year.  Students who violate the district expectations and policies regarding HIB will be disciplined for harassing, intimidating, or bullying (HIB). Disciplinary actions range from conferences and peer mediation to suspension or expulsion, depending upon severity.

While we respect the expression of religious, philosophical, or political views, such expression must not  substantially disrupt the educational environment. Please note that behaviors not meeting the formal definition of HIB may still be prohibited under other district or classroom rules.

If a student experiences misconduct of any kind, we encourage them to report the incident immediately. Under Policy 3207  the District investigates every report seriously.

Students or guardians may submit a formal complaint at any time using the link to Vector Solutions for an effective, anonymous way to alert our compliance officer.
